"I Love You"

Why am I blogging at 3:21 am? It is not by choice. It is because a certain someone who sleeps diagonally woke up and came into my bed. I cannot sleep with kids in my bed. Not even a cute little two year old. She moves, she leans on me... I am a very light sleeper and would rather not sleep at all than sleep with a child all over me, moving around every so often.

But that crazy, diagonal sleeper has won me over recently. She can do no wrong. She started saying "I love you" to me. Not only does she say it, but when I put her to bed she holds my face in her little hands and says, "I love you, Mommy" and kisses me on the lips. I almost melt every time. There is nothing more precious than that.

So she may be in my bed. And I may be exhausted tomorrow. But the little "I love you" will make it ok.... at least for a little while.

And the Starbucks venti coffee will help too.

  1. I feel your pain. Since returning from vacay, El has been sleeping with hubs and me. I think that she thinks that if she is there, we won't be able to leave again. I may break out the princess stickers for bribery. :)

  2. thats adorable. When T holds my face to tell me something it pretty much makes my day, even if she is holding my face and saying in a sweet voice, "Mommy, can I have candy?"
