Six & Thirteen

Sunday morning I ran 6 miles. 6 miles! It seriously might have been the proudest moment of my life. I drove it, just to make sure I was right, and it was exactly 6.1 miles. This was a big moment for me. I just started seriously running 3 weeks ago! And already 6 miles... Woo Hoo! I could not stop smiling. Later that day Jon took me to Runner's Edge to get sized for a good pair of running shoes. I finally liked the 6th pair. I think the guy thought I was nuts. I told him that no matter how comfortable the shoe is I have to like the way it looks. His response: Real runners don't care what their shoes look like. In the end I chose a pair that turned out to be the ones he was wearing but in a different color. He told me to come back after 300-400 miles. What a crazy thought!!!

Around dinner time I started to feel a little cramping at the top of my right inner thigh. That's when I remembered that I forgot to stretch after I ran. By 8:00 it was so bad that I could barely move my leg. Not kidding. I was laying on Jessica's bed playing skeeball on her itouch when my right leg started slipping off. Well that muscle was so fatigued that I could not lift my leg up. I had to ask Jon to put my leg back on the bed! And then I spent the rest of the night on the couch with my leg elevated. Not because I wanted to, but because I was so exhausted that I didn't want to climb up the stairs to my room!!!!! Granted I can't blame it all on the running. I didn't sleep at all the night before because I had a migraine and felt nauseous. I guess my excedrin migraine pills must have worn off around dinner time. I was beyond exhausted.

Last night I had a little dinner party for about 14 people at my house so my cousin could do her Mary Kay demonstration.

I never saw Mary Kay stuff before, but really liked some of her products. I gave my friend a makeover which was really fun.

Jessica and Emily had a lot of fun with the makeup too!

They did it all by themselves! Can you tell? :)

We all just kind of ate and hung out. I got this awesome bag. You all should own one. Not only does it have 4 pouches to fill, and a hanger to hang in the closet when you are traveling, or at your in law's house or wherever, each pouch velcros on and off. So you can just take your toothbrush and toothpaste or your makeup or your showering stuff to the bathroom without having to bring everything. And I hate leaving things in other people's bathrooms especially my toothbrush. Ew.

Anyway, I also got an awesome roll-up eyeliner (yay- no more sharpening), facial moisturizer, mascara, and she threw in the hand soap scrub/ lotion set I really liked as a gift.

Today is my anniversary. Thirteen years. Wow. That is a really long time. I decided to get all pretty with my new make-up and stay home and chill all morning. Although I might run a couple miles in a little. I think we are going out for dinner and then just hanging out watching some tv together at home. I know... so romantic. I bought my own roses for the Mary Kay thing already. And we have decided to not buy each other anything this year... Although I do want a new bag and boots. But do we really need an occasion to buy those things? My sort- of -not- really- gift to Jon is that I'll go with him to the sporting event of his choice. He chose December 20th and I'm pretty sure it's a hockey game. Can't wait. Oh and I promised that I would enjoy the game and have fun watching it.
