Did I ever mention how much I hate making lunches every morning. Well I do. I sometimes think that I would rather them stay home from school than make their lunches. I don't know why. What is the big deal? Jessica told me that her friend makes her own lunches for school every morning. She must have seen the look of excitement on my face, because she said, "Don't even think about it, Mommy. It is not happening."

I went into the kitchen to make lunches at 7:30 and discovered that I didn't have any sandwich baggies. So basically my kids will be having all store bought snack size snacks today. Luckily Emily has soup and bagel day and Will is taking a yogurt. I did wrap a cucumber in saran wrap for the girls cuz I don't want their lunch to be too junky. That is so something that will embarrass them. Especially Jessica because her sandwich is also in saran wrap. I'm not allowed to send things in reusable containers or anything "weird" like saran wrap. Oh well. Note to self: by sandwich baggies today.

I hope you all have something planned for the weekend. We are driving to Detroit to visit my husband's family. Well most of them.... Naomi and Joey are ditching us and going to Mexico instead take me with you... I wanna go.... Who would wanna go to Mexico when you could stay here in the Midwest with all this beautiful rain and possible snow coming...? Anyway, I havn't really offered to cook anything so I should probably do so today. Oh, and I think I am going to bring those Chanukah gifts for my niece and nephew and tell my sister in law to hide them for a few weeks. I am THE WORST at mailing out gifts. The thought is there but the going to the post office part just never seems to happen. And by the way, I still feel the shoulder pain from carrying those toys the other day. Along with a little calf pain when I walk up and down the stairs (a million times a day).

But this pain is good for me. I went to my laser appointment yesterday. She told me she was upping it a little and should tell her if it is too painful. After walking around with legs that killed me last week and shoulders hurting yesterday my threshold for pain has definitely increased. I love my laser person, Betty. You should all go to her at American Laser Center. Oh and tell her I sent you so I get some money put towards my next laser package. :)

  1. when my middle sons kindergarten said they want to make lunches in school (here it is aruchat esser - midmorning sandwich) I JUMPED at the opportunity - one less sandwich to make in the morning, one less discussion of what they wanted and if they changed their minds, one less i forgot to take it with me.... I was ECSTATIC!!! granted for a fee (about 15$/month) and its great - they eat healthier:
sandwich with tuna or cottage cheese or they make egg salad, or cheese slices or chumus, cut up vegetables, no fighting over junk food, they actually make the sandwiches themselves at the table, very independent - it is so cute - they are so big and responsible!!!! ES

  3. Yup. We're going to Mexico. I'm feeling pretty good about that right now... BUT, I'm feeling sad about missing my regular Thanksgiving in Michigan!! I really am. I hope it's fun, but not more fun than usual, because than I'll think it was more fun because we weren't there.

  4. I often end up with using tinfoil. I might have 4000 bottles of ketchup, but I always run out of baggies!

Hope you have a good trip!

  6. Orah, sadly it's only 1 block. And even sadder I just realized that I only have happy birthday wrapping paper.

  7. So true, Shosh. Definitely the worst. I usually go to the skokie one.
