Little Pea

Jon decided to take Jessica and Emily and 2 friends to the movies last night. At first I was jealous... I wanted to take them. But then I saw the light.... the possible 7:30 bedtime. All the alone time....... time to do whatever I wanted. In a quiet house. All by myself.

At 7:05, I said goodbye to Jon and the girls and hello to bath time. I let Alyssa put as many bath toys as she wanted into the tub (all of them). Foam letters, about 20 ducks, backyardigans and their ship, froggies, sea animals, pouring cups, straining cups..... you get the picture. I let her play a little. I washed her body, her hair, and let her play a few more minutes.

Will asked if I could read him Little Pea (great book if you never read it) while she finished playing in the bath. I said, "Sure. I'll read you Little Pea." And we sat down at the door of the bathroom and read the book.

About 3 feet away from us, playing happily in the tub was a little girl that I wish had only made a "little pee" in the tub. But no. It was not a little pee, it was a big giant poop in the tub. I mean, she must have waited all day for this perfect opportunity, with every freaking bath toy we own floating in the tub, when her Mommy was trying to get her into bed nice and early.....

OMG!!!!

Seriously. I wanted to just throw everything in the garbage. All the toys and oh the towel that she threw some you know what on, and even the bathtub. Because I mean, I don't even touch the garbage can!!!!! So yeah, I was kinda freaking out a little.

I took Alyssa out of the tub and wrapped her in a towel. Put all her bath toys in the sink and sprayed a bottle of cleanser on them. Cleaned the bathtub. Washed it with antibacterial everything, rewashed the tub, gave Alyssa a new bath with tons of soapy bubbles, gave a reluctant Will a quick bath (gotta love the kid for not wanting to get in the tub. I wouldn't have wanted to either), and finally got them to bed at 9. Yes 9!

WORST NIGHT EVER!!!!!!!

P.S. I told Will that I am never reading Little Pea while Alyssa is in the bath ever again.

Did I ever mention how much I hate making lunches every morning. Well I do. I sometimes think that I would rather them stay home from school than make their lunches. I don't know why. What is the big deal? Jessica told me that her friend makes her own lunches for school every morning. She must have seen the look of excitement on my face, because she said, "Don't even think about it, Mommy. It is not happening."

I went into the kitchen to make lunches at 7:30 and discovered that I didn't have any sandwich baggies. So basically my kids will be having all store bought snack size snacks today. Luckily Emily has soup and bagel day and Will is taking a yogurt. I did wrap a cucumber in saran wrap for the girls cuz I don't want their lunch to be too junky. That is so something that will embarrass them. Especially Jessica because her sandwich is also in saran wrap. I'm not allowed to send things in reusable containers or anything "weird" like saran wrap. Oh well. Note to self: by sandwich baggies today.

I hope you all have something planned for the weekend. We are driving to Detroit to visit my husband's family. Well most of them.... Naomi and Joey are ditching us and going to Mexico instead take me with you... I wanna go.... Who would wanna go to Mexico when you could stay here in the Midwest with all this beautiful rain and possible snow coming...? Anyway, I havn't really offered to cook anything so I should probably do so today. Oh, and I think I am going to bring those Chanukah gifts for my niece and nephew and tell my sister in law to hide them for a few weeks. I am THE WORST at mailing out gifts. The thought is there but the going to the post office part just never seems to happen. And by the way, I still feel the shoulder pain from carrying those toys the other day. Along with a little calf pain when I walk up and down the stairs (a million times a day).

But this pain is good for me. I went to my laser appointment yesterday. She told me she was upping it a little and should tell her if it is too painful. After walking around with legs that killed me last week and shoulders hurting yesterday my threshold for pain has definitely increased. I love my laser person, Betty. You should all go to her at American Laser Center. Oh and tell her I sent you so I get some money put towards my next laser package. :)

My Day

Late last night after an eventful day of waking up to a mess of toys I was too tired to clean up after Yom Kippur, remembering that the cleaning lady (Stella) was coming in half an hour, hustling to clean my house as fast as possible so she doesn't think I'm a messy person, make the kids' lunches, give them breakfast, get dressed, drive the kids to school, drop off the library book that was 3 months overdue (found it under the couch!).

I then got a latte from Starbuck's, took a shower, checked on my farm (farmville on facebook), wrote my blog, checked my emails, said tehillim (psalms) for little baby sara, got some plastic grapes from Michael's to hang in my Sukkah, picked up Alyssa from school, went on facebook (she was napping), waited for Will's carpool to come home, played 2 games of Moose In The House with Will, watched a few Scooby Doos with Alyssa and Will, greeted Jessica and Emily when they got home, made dinner, helped them with homework, tested Jessica on her math, corrected the punctuation on Emily's book report, ran out to Michael's again with Emily, watched the Biggest Loser, put the kids to bed, cleaned up the house, washed the dishes, went back on facebook....

I finally sat down with a tall glass of water in front of my computer to catch up on all my favorite blogs. I love reading blogs. I used to think it was weird to read someone's blog, but once you do it, you kinda get pulled in and you want to read it every day. I have about 12 that I read regularly. I'm sure there are a million more out there, and thanks to Mckmama I am finding out about them. But the one that made me laugh last night was 11 points. I think I wrote about it once before. I found this one pretty funny, so I'm gonna give you the link because I think that when you find a blog you like you are supposed to let more people in on it. So click here if you want to read it. After all, I didn't find it on my own. Someone posted a link to it on facebook. Oh how I love facebook.....
